Mother’s Day 2025 falls on Sunday, May 11, and one of the most popular ways to enjoy the day is by taking mom (or any mother figure in your life) out to brunch. If you’re in Grand Rapids, Michigan and don’t want to do a last-minute ‘mother’s day brunch near me’ Google search, I’m here to help make things easier.
I’ve done the research for you and will break down my top picks for where to go for brunch in Grand Rapids this Mother’s Day. And further below, I’ll share some additional ideas beyond brunch for those who want more options. Top Mother’s Day Restaurants for Brunch in Grand Rapids
Rose's Restaurant - Best East Grand Rapids Option Located in East Grand Rapids on Reed’s Lake, Rose’s has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating depending on the weather. If it’s a nice day, I definitely recommend taking advantage of their outdoor seating along the lake for some great views. Rose’s Mother’s Day brunch special runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but if you decide to do dinner instead, they also have dinner specials from 3:00 p.m. until they close at 10:00 p.m. Their brunch menu includes a mix of staple breakfast items like Eggs Benedict and French Toast, as well as some lunch selections like pizza, salad, and a turkey sandwich. You can click on the link above to see their full brunch menu. Pros
Cons
Cherie Inn - Best East Hills Option Located in GR’s East Hills neighborhood, the Cherie Inn has historical significance as Grand Rapids’ oldest restaurant. They originally opened in 1924, which means they just celebrated their 100th year in 2024. This local gem features a delicious assortment of breakfast items, and they have a wide selection to choose from, so you should be able to find something for every taste preference. The Cherie Inn is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Pros
Cons
Tupelo Honey - Best Downtown Option Tupelo Honey is a southern-inspired chain that launched a new location in downtown Grand Rapids by the corner of Ottawa and Pearl. Southern food is on a whole other level when it comes to deliciousness, so if you’re up for something new and yummy this Mother’s Day, I recommend checking out this spot. While parking downtown is easier said than done sometimes, the good news is that parking meters are at least free on Sundays, so it’s a better time to go. Tupelo Honey is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays, and you can make a reservation on their website, which I’ve added a link to above. While Tupelo Honey doesn't have any specific Mother's Day specials, they did share that they have launched a new Spring-inspired list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for you and mom to enjoy. Pros
Cons
Wolfgang's - Best Eastown Option Wolfgang’s is a local Eastown favorite for breakfast. It also boasts one of the more affordable menus on this list, making it ideal for those looking for something casual and budget-friendly this Mother’s Day. To top it off, they offer a special kids’ menu, where kids 12 and under can pick three breakfast items for under $5! Located on Wealthy Street in the heart of Eastown Grand Rapids, Wolfgang’s Sunday hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they take online reservations. In this case, I would recommend calling them at (616) 454-5776 to ask if reservations are possible. If not, you could just call that morning to get a feel for how busy they are. Pros
Cons
Anna's House - Best Vegan Option With multiple locations in the Grand Rapids area, Anna’s House is another local favorite for breakfast. Vegan restaurants in GR are few and far in-between, but Anna’s House is helping to lead the way with a great variety of vegan-friendly dishes. The good news is that Anna’s House also serves up regular non-vegan items, making this a great choice for everyone, regardless of whether or not you are vegan. Unfortunately, Anna’s House doesn’t take reservations, so this is another one where I recommend calling ahead of time at the specific location you’re interested in to see how busy they are. The good news is that they do open early, running from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pros
Cons
Butcher's Union - Best Westside Option Butcher’s Union is a westside hotspot that’s perfect for something more hip and trendy this Mother’s Day. While their brunch menu isn’t as extensive, they have a good variety of dishes, including Huevos Rancheros, Crab Benedict, French Toast, and Biscuits and Gravy. And if you’re in the mood for a cocktail with brunch, the prices are pretty hard to beat for a trendy westside restaurant; just $7 for a mimosa or Bloody Mary! They also have a kids' menu. For $9, kids can choose from an entree, one side, and get complementary milk, apple juice, or orange juice. This deal applies only to kids 10 and under. According to their website, reservations for Mother’s Day are now open. You can make your reservation on Resy.com, though groups up to 9-12 people are asked to call the restaurant directly. Pros
Cons
Lucy's - Best Creston Option Lucy’s is a popular brunch spot located on Plainfield in GR’s Creston neighborhood. Similar to Anna’s House, Lucy’s serves up a good selection of vegan-friendly breakfast dishes. Lucy’s also features a kids’ menu with breakfast items at just $6. This restaurant is open from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, they only take reservations for groups of 9 or more. You can make a reservation by calling them at (616) 591-3149. Their website says they also have a 90-minute limit per party on weekends, so just keep that in mind if you decide to go here. Pros
Cons
Reds at Thousand Oaks Golf Club - Best Buffet Brunch If you’re looking for a buffet brunch this Mother’s Day, consider hitting up Reds at the Thousand Oaks Golf Club. This venue offers gorgeous outdoor seating, so if the weather permits, it’s going to be a fantastic choice for a nice outdoor meal. According to their website, Red’s Mother’s Day brunch buffet will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Prices are $39 for adults, $17 for kids ages 5-12, and free for kids 4 and younger. The restaurant requires a reservation in advance, which you can make by calling them at (616) 447-7750. Pros
Cons
Russ' - Best Budget Option Russ’ is a West Michigan chain that’s been around for 90 years. They have a large menu full of comfort foods for all meals of the day, including breakfast. The best part, though, is that Russ’ is a very budget-friendly Grand Rapids restaurant, with plenty of delicious meals below $10 or $15. Russ’ serves breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and there are multiple locations around West Michigan, so you can find the one closest to you. They also have a kids' menu for breakfast items. I’ve always loved coming here as a kid, and the service never disappoints. Pros
